Steve’s Principles

Liberty Through Decentralization

Politicians and unelected bureaucrats consistently look for ways to further centralize control over our economy and lives. The solution will not be found in Washington or Austin. We must return sovereignty to the people and resist unconstitutional executive orders and regulatory mandates masquerading as law. Decentralization of political, economic, and monetary control is vital to ensure liberty for all.

Family Values

Steve believes his most important duty is as a father and husband. A desire to defend Texas for future generations, for his own children, has been a driving force behind his decision to run for office. He is committed to homeschooling his children, through the hard work and support of his wife. His family will always stay together and, during any legislative sessions, will temporarily move to Austin as a family as he is honored with the opportunity to be a State Representative. His commitment to strengthen and support families will always guide him.

Seeking Wisdom and Instruction

Steve will consistently seek out opportunities to listen and learn from the people of House District 70. Those closest to the critical issues that face us are best positioned to inform the right solutions. Subject matter expertise and an openness to a diversity of opinions should guide the decision-making process.

Term Limits

The Republican Party of Texas Platform calls for term limits. It stipulates a 12-year limit for any single office as a reasonable limit at both the federal and state level. We do not need more lifetime politicians. Steve believes term limits are necessary and will honor the Republican Party of Texas Platform.

In God We Trust

This is not only our national motto, but the only firm foundation upon which we can build a moral and prosperous society.
